{"id":127526,"date":"2026-06-11T01:19:02","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T00:19:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=127526"},"modified":"2026-06-11T01:19:02","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T00:19:02","slug":"fhc-judges-begin-annual-vacation-july-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/fhc-judges-begin-annual-vacation-july-27\/","title":{"rendered":"FHC\u00a0 judges begin annual vacation July 27\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">By John Azu<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has announced the commencement of its annual vacation from July 27.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Judge, who disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja, said that the vacation is pursuant to to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that the vacation, which will commence on Monday, July 27 will end on Friday, September 11, 2026.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A statement by the Director of Information of the Court, Dr Catherine Christopher, on behalf of the Chief Judge, explained that the vacation is for the judges to have their rest and to prepare for the tasks and activities of the new legal year ahead.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement, however, hinted that during the vacation period, the court will\u00a0 provide judicial services in urgent matters through designated vacation courts.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the statement, the Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu Judicial Divisions will be operational to entertain cases requiring immediate judicial attention.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">It urged members of the public and legal practitioners to file and prosecute urgent matters only at the designated Vacation Courts closest to them.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The designated vacation judges are<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Justices Joyce\u00a0 Abdulmalik and Obiora Egwuatu for Abuja Division; and Justices Akintayo Aluko and Ogazi F. Nkemakonam for Lagos Division.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Others are Justices P. M. Ayua and\u00a0 A. T. Mohammed for Port Harcourt Division, while the newly created Enugu Division has Justices F. O. G. Ogunbanjo and M. T.
