{"id":128096,"date":"2026-07-03T19:52:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-03T18:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=128096"},"modified":"2026-07-03T19:52:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T18:52:12","slug":"let-court-decide-whos-right-wrong-adeyemi-breaks-silence-on-pfipc-scandal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/let-court-decide-whos-right-wrong-adeyemi-breaks-silence-on-pfipc-scandal\/","title":{"rendered":"Let Court Decide Who&#8217;s Right, Wrong, Adeyemi Breaks Silence on PFIPC Scandal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By Oscar Okhifo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi has broken his silence over the controversy surrounding the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), declaring that he is prepared to face trial and confident that the courts\u2014not public opinion\u2014will determine the truth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adeyemi made the remarks during a telephone interview on\u00a0<strong>Channels Television&#8217;s Politics Today<\/strong>\u00a0on Thursday while responding to allegations that he falsely presented himself as the Director-General of a presidential council which the Presidency insists never existed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Asked whether he was ready to face prosecution over the allegations, the embattled businessman said he had nothing to fear and was prepared to submit himself to the judicial process.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Definitely, sir. If I&#8217;m wrong, let the court of law do that, and if I&#8217;m right, let the court of law do the right thing.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He maintained that the matter should be left entirely to the courts, expressing confidence that the evidence would ultimately vindicate him.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Since the matter is in court, let the court of competent jurisdiction vindicate me because I&#8217;m ready to clear my name. Let the court take its course. My lawyers are already involved, and we will follow the case through to its conclusion,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When pressed on the source of funds allegedly used to finance the activities of the disputed council, Adeyemi declined to provide details, insisting that he would reserve his defence for the courtroom.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The truth will be unravelled at the court of law,&#8221; he stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking from an undisclosed location, Adeyemi also disclosed that he was unwell, although he declined to reveal the nature of his illness or where he was receiving treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His comments came amid mounting public interest in the controversy, which has generated widespread debate over the authenticity of the PFIPC and the circumstances surrounding its operations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Presidency has distanced itself from both the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC), maintaining that neither body was established or recognised by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga has alleged that Adeyemi forged official documents, impersonated a government official and used the purported appointments to open bank accounts and conduct official activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following investigations, the Nigeria Police filed an eight-count charge against Adeyemi and two other defendants before the Federal High Court in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The charges include conspiracy, forgery, impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case has also triggered broader questions about how the disputed council allegedly operated for an extended period without attracting the attention of key government institutions and security agencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the institutions that have featured in public discussions are the Department of State Services (DSS), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and the National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The controversy has further fuelled calls for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the council&#8217;s alleged activities and the authenticity of documents linked to it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Public attention has also focused on reports of an alleged middleman said to have died in a hotel fire in Abuja&#8217;s Utako district, with calls for investigators to establish the identity of the deceased, determine the circumstances of the reported death and ascertain whether a forensic investigation of the fire is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite the criminal charges against him, Adeyemi has continued to insist that his appointment was legitimate and that he acted lawfully.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With both the Presidency and Adeyemi maintaining sharply opposing positions, the outcome of the court proceedings is expected to determine the authenticity of the disputed appointments and provide judicial clarity on the legal status of the PFIPC.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Oscar Okhifo Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi has broken his silence over the controversy surrounding the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), declaring that he is prepared to face trial&hellip;<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on wp_trim_excerpt --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":128097,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-128096","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
