justify;\">The Lafia Zone of Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBM),\u00a0 donated blood to patients at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, Nasarawa State, as part of efforts to support people requiring urgent transfusion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The donation was carried out under the organisation\u2019s 2026 Worldwide Humanitarian Programmes and Agenda, with the blood expected to assist patients undergoing treatment, particularly those whose medical conditions require transfusion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on behalf of the President of NBM of Africa Worldwide, Dr. Charles Chimezie, during the exercise, the Lafia Zonal President of the organisation, Mr. Abdullahi Itari, said the initiative was driven by the organisation\u2019s commitment to humanitarian service and support for vulnerable members of society.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Itari said the exercise was also intended to encourage voluntary blood donation among members of the public, stressing the importance of collective support for patients in need of blood.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to him, \u201cThe visit is to carry out a humanitarian outreach to conduct a free blood donation exercise for the benefit of patients and other persons in need of blood transfusion.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He explained that NBM of Africa is a Pan-African and humanitarian organisation committed to promoting justice, combating oppression and other societal vices, as well as providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Itari said the organisation considered blood donation an important way of responding to immediate healthcare needs in communities, adding that the Lafia Zone would continue to support initiatives capable of improving the welfare of residents.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">He urged eligible members of the public to embrace voluntary blood donation, noting that regular donations could help improve access to blood for patients when the need arises.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Receiving the donation, the management of the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, expressed appreciation to the Lafia Zone of NBM of Africa Worldwide for the gesture, describing it as timely and relevant to healthcare delivery.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The hospital management said adequate blood supplies were essential for patients requiring transfusion and assured that the donated blood would be provided to patients who genuinely needed it.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The management also highlighted the continuing demand for blood in Nigeria, particularly in healthcare situations where transfusion may be urgently required.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">It said, \u201cOne out of three Nigerians needs blood,\u201d while calling for greater participation in voluntary blood donation by individuals, organisations and other stakeholders.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The hospital commended the body for supporting patients through the donation, saying such interventions could complement efforts to maintain adequate blood supplies for those requiring transfusion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organisation said the Lafia outreach formed part of its broader humanitarian programme aimed at supporting vulnerable people and responding to pressing community needs.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Itari said the Lafia Zone would sustain similar initiatives as part of its contribution to community
