{"id":129893,"date":"2026-10-09T10:08:29","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T09:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=129893"},"modified":"2026-10-09T10:08:29","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T09:08:29","slug":"2027-obi-media-team-urges-nigerians-not-to-sell-pvcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/2027-obi-media-team-urges-nigerians-not-to-sell-pvcs\/","title":{"rendered":"2027: Obi media team urges Nigerians not to sell PVCs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>By John Azu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Peter Obi Media Office (POMR) has urged Nigerians not to succumb to pressure or inducements to sell their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a statement signed by its spokesman, Idris Zekeri Jnr., the media office urged voters to remain vigilant and resist attempts to exploit the economic hardship in the country to induce them to surrender their PVCs or compromise the electoral process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With 100 days to the election, Zekeri urged Nigerians to reject money or other inducements offered in exchange for their votes, PVCs or participation in activities capable of undermining the integrity of the elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cExactly 100 days left to election day, we urge Nigerians to remain vigilant against anyone offering money or inducements in exchange for your vote, your PVC, or participation in any scheme aimed at compromising the electoral process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The spokesman also alleged that reports from some states indicated that some state governors were collecting the PVCs of citizens, including civil servants, in exchange for the payment of their salaries and allowances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cReports from some states indicate that some state governors, who have nothing positive to show to persuade their citizens, including civil servants, are collecting their PVCs in exchange for the payment of their legitimate salaries and allowances,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zekeri urged voters to keep their PVCs secure and report any suspected attempt to manipulate the electoral process to the appropriate authorities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cYour PVC is not for sale. Your vote is not for sale. Your future is not for sale. Collect your PVC. Keep it secure. Do not hand it over to anyone. Reject bribes and report any suspected electoral manipulation to the proper authorities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further urged Nigerians to participate actively in the election and protect their votes through lawful means.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOn election day, turn out, vote according to your conscience, protect your ballot, and insist that your vote counts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHold your PVC firmly. Use it responsibly. Defend your vote legally.
