Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor, Mr Nsima Ekere, has lauded the outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), \u00a0Justice Dahiru Musdapher, for making 52 proposals for\u00a0 amendment in the constitution.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0gave the commendation in Uyo on Wednesday when Justice Olu Ariwoola of the Supreme Court paid him a courtesy visit.<\/p>\n
Justice Ariwoola, who represented the CJN, was in Uyo for the Chief Justice of Nigeria Sports competition.<\/p>\n
Ekere also commended the CJN for some reforms carried out in the judicial system in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
He described the tenure of Justice Musdapher as “eventful and full of far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the judiciary to meet the expectations of Nigerians.”<\/p>\n
The deputy governor hailed the Supreme Court judgment on the dispute between Akwa Ibom and Cross River States over the 76 oil wells.<\/p>\n
He said the judgment had reaffirmed his belief in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.<\/p>\n
Ekere said that the state was delighted to play host to this year\u2019s Chief Justice Sports\u2019 Competition, which was started 18 years ago.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Justice Ariwoola commended the Akpabio administration for its `impressive\u2019 performance and expressed the belief that more would be done before the end of his tenure in 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
