Gov. Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Thursday advised his detractors to to stop attacking his administration because they would always fail.<\/p>\n
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant,\u00a0 Media, Malam Sani Mairiga.<\/p>\n
Al-Makura said despite disparaging and derogatory comments against his administration by the detractors, he would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.<\/p>\n
“Allah will continue to guide and direct me to deliver to my people the dividends of democracy.”<\/p>\n
Al-Makura said his ascension to power as governor of the state was divinely orchestrated.<\/p>\n
According to him, he, therefore,has nothing to fear, especially from those who are hell-bent on pulling him down.<\/p>\n
“Some of my detractors have held various positions, they should come out and tell us what they have done to better the living conditions of our people,” the governor said.<\/p>\n
He said anybody attempting to run his government down through whatever means would end up having high blood pressure because such attempts were bound to fail.<\/p>\n
The governor said that he would continue to ensure that Nasarawa’s funds got down to the poor through the provision of infrastructure for the benefit of all.<\/p>\n
“Some people\u00a0 want power by hook or by crook. I want to let them know that power comes from Allah and He bestows it on whom He wants, and nobody has the audacity to question Him,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Al-Makura said his government would continue to do its best to uplift the living standard of the people.<\/p>\n
He said that his administration would create an enabling environment where sustainable peace and tranquillity would prevail.<\/p>\n
He warned mischief makers to desist from acts capable of causing disaffection among the citizens of the state.<\/p>\n
Al-Makura also called on politicians to avoid politics of rancour and acrimony as it would not augur well<\/p>\n
