Prophet T.B. Joshua has responded to a controversial online article suggesting he was behind the release of Major Al-Mustapha.<\/p>\n
Online Nigerian media,(not pointblanknews.com),\u00a0 had released an article titled \u2018Pastor T.B. Joshua Revealed As Man Behind Al-Mustapha\u2019s Release\u2019 which quoted an anonymous source identifying Joshua as the person who told Goodluck Jonathan that his political fortune in 2015 rested with setting free Al Mustapha and also bringing James Ibori back to Nigeria.<\/p>\n
According to the report “After Mr. Joshua’s spiritual \u201cforecast\u201d was told to Mr. Jonathan,\u00a0 he instructed the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke to take care of the judges involved in the case, giving him a war chest of $2 million.\u00a0 But a judge, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, a Northern Muslim, who was earlier contacted to do the dirty job, refused to accept the bribe and removed himself from consideration of the plan. Another judge, Amina Augie, was then drafted to handle the Al-Mustapha\u2019s acquittal.\u00a0 Ms. Augie, formerly known as Anna Graham, who is originally from Anambra State and fourth wife of late Senator Adamu Augie of Kebbi State, took the case and assembled some lawyers to help with drafting the judgement.”<\/p>\n
\u201cThis article is from the enemy,\u201d the Nigerian cleric fumed via a statement on his official Facebook page. \u201cThey should not drag me into the issue of politics. If I ever want to go to Aso Rock, I would go publicly. I have already told you how I met Al-Mustapha. Don\u2019t put words into my mouth.\u201d<\/p>\n
After Al-Mustapha\u2019s release last week, his first port of call was to Prophet T.B. Joshua whom Mustapha later described upon his triumphant arrival in Kano as an \u2018old friend\u2019. Joshua had immediately granted an interview following Mustapha\u2019s visit, explaining that he met Mustapha following his illegal detention by the NDLEA and had prophesied to him about his long prison sentence and eventual release.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is therefore very malicious\u00a0 to attach any political meanings to Al-Mustapha\u2019s visit,\u201d T.B.
