Pointblanknews.com had earlier broken the story that the wanted law maker finally turned up at the police headquarters, Abuja, accompanied by his lawyer.<\/p>\n
Family sources told Pointblanknews.com that the lawmaker finished writing a lengthy statement about an hour ago, and that his lawyer had moved to secure a bail for his client, but was denied.<\/p>\n
According to the sources, police detectives investigation the fracas that erupted in the state Assembly penultimate Tuesday, told Lloyd’s lawyer that his client’s presence was required to assist investigations.<\/p>\n
Pointblanknews.com could not confirm if and when the lawmaker would be arraigned in court. However, a police source said Lloyd’s assault on a colleague, as caught on tape, was a criminal offence.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a family source has disclosed how pressure was mounted on the embattled lawmaker to turn himself in after close to a week in hiding.<\/p>\n
The source said they believed Lloyd holed himself up in Lagos and would intermittently make telephone calls to close family members and political associates, particularly his pro-Amaechi colleagues in the Assembly.<\/p>\n
