A frosty relationship is brewing between Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State and the Secretary to the State Government, Umana Okon Umana who recently declared his intention to run for the 2015 Governorship election.<\/p>\n
Already, a detachment of Police personnel have sealed off the office of the SSG and sources confirmed to pointblanknews.com that the whereabouts of Umana is yet unknown.<\/p>\n
Another source that does not want to be named told Pointblanknews.com that Governor Akpabio might have been miffed over the recent declaration by his SSG to succeed him in 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can confirm to you that this morning Policemen sealed the office of the SSG and I can also confirm to you that we are yet to see him or know where he is,\u201d a source told Pointblanknews.com over the phone.<\/p>\n
According to the source, \u201c we cannot say for sure if the sealing off of the SSG\u2019s office has anything to do with his decision to run for Governorship in 2015 or not but we are convinced that if such happens, the state Governor ought to be aware.\u201d<\/p>\n
Umana, a strong politician from the Uyo Senatorial District is said to have oiled his political machineries to clinch the Governorship ticket in 2015. His decision is at varience with some politicians from the state who are agitating for the Governor to come from Eket Senatorial District in 2015.<\/p>\n
The SSG had over the weekend declared \u201cI have decided to make public my intention to run for the office of governor of Akwa Ibom state in response to the overwhelming pressure from the good people of the three senatorial districts of the state for me to declare my interest in the race.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish to assure our people that I will run for the office of governor of Akwa Ibom state come 2015\u201d, he declared.<\/p>\n
