Erstwhile commissioner for Works in Abia state, Prince Kingsley Mgbeahuru has vowed to jail his ex-wife, Mrs. Blessing Mgbeahuru over the latter\u2019s refusal to revert to her maiden name after their divorce.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that Mgbeahuru who is a former member of the state House of Assembly, had in 2008, draggedhis former wife to the Osisoma Ngwa customary court where he sought the dissolution of their<\/p>\n
marriage contracted in 1983.<\/p>\n

The Court presided over by one I.I Ufomba had on March 10, 2009, dissolved the marriage and ordered Blessing to refun the sum of N5, 000 paid on her as dowry by her former commissioner.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The court also ordered that the woman should immediately revert to her maiden name.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Counsel to Mgbeahuru, Columbus Ukpabio said four years after the judgment, Blessing was yet to revert to her maiden name as ordered.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ukpabio said his client was since remarried to one Chinasa and as such would have nothing to do with the former wife who he accused of hiding under the name of Mgbeahuru to indulge in acts that tend to bring down the reputation of her former husband.<\/p>\n

The lawyer said he had, based on the instruction of his client written the Osisioma Ngwa local council and the Local Government Service Commission, employers of Blessing on the need for her to obey the court order, but all<\/p>\n
efforts to get Blessing obey the judgment proved abortive.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He added that they had no other option than to go to court to seek committal proceeding against the woman. \u201cWe are initiating a committal proceeding against her to explain why she should not be committed to prison for her refusal to revert to her maiden name or any other name for that matter since 2009 when court dissolved the marriage and order her to<\/p>\n
