President of the Senate Senator David Mark has advocated the spreading of the four way test of Rotary International which promotes friendship,\u00a0 development, peace and unity between and amongst\u00a0 people.<\/p>\n
This , he opined would help end the violence and crisis ravaging some parts of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Senator Mark said every rational being should have the four way test of Rotary in mind before taking any decision saying ” our utmost responsibility is to speak the truth, to be fair, to build goodwill and\u00a0 better friendship and do our best in all situations”.<\/p>\n
The four way test of Rotary was propounded by Herbert Taylor in 1932 as a simple checklist for ethical behavior. They transcends generations and national borders .<\/p>\n
The four way test of Rotary asks specific questions : “Is it the truth?, Is it fair to all concerned?, will it build goodwill and better friendship and will it be beneficial to all concerned?”.<\/p>\n
Playing host to the visiting Rotary International President-elect Gary Huang in Abuja yesterday Senator Mark expressed optimism that most of the troubles bedeviling\u00a0 some countries of the world would be curtailed if people imbibe the four way test of Rotary.<\/p>\n
He noted that the humanitarian gestures of Rotary International in aide to the less privileged individuals and communities in the society as commendable saying ” the national development and unity which Rotary attracts is unprecedented “.<\/p>\n
Senator Mark promised to spread the good message of Rotary which he hoped\u00a0 would promote goodwill and\u00a0 democracy\u00a0 in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the President- elect of Rotary international Gray Huang\u00a0 said he was in Nigeria to promote the goodwill of Rotary , get more converts and make the world a better place where peace, justices , love and respect for one another reigns.<\/p>\n
Huang promised to help expand the membership of Rotary International\u00a0 in order to help over come the turbulence ravaging most nations of the world.<\/p>\n
