{"id":16795,"date":"2013-08-31T18:04:24","date_gmt":"2013-08-31T17:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=16795"},"modified":"2013-09-01T13:06:29","modified_gmt":"2013-09-01T12:06:29","slug":"pdp-splits-atiku-7-pdp-governors-form-new-faction-baraje-oyinlola-new-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/pdp-splits-atiku-7-pdp-governors-form-new-faction-baraje-oyinlola-new-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"PDP Splits: Atiku, 7 PDP Governors Form New Faction Baraje, Oyinlola new &#8220;officers&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and seven governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) moments ago announced the formation a new faction of the party.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP leaders had about an hour ago stormed out of the party&#8217;s special national convention holding at Eagle Square, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>At a press briefing moments ago by a former acting national chairman of the party, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, the new faction announced Prince Olagunsola Oyinlola as national secretary.<\/p>\n<p>The press briefing was attended by Atiku, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso, and Murtala Nyako, governors of Rivers, Kano and Adamawa States respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Also in at the briefing were Babangida Aliyu, Sule Lamido, and Abdulfatah Ahmed, governors of Niger, Jigawa and Kwara States respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had penultimate week registered Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), a very influential association under which prominent northern politicians, including Atiku, cut his political teeth.<\/p>\n<p>The former Vice President had however insisted that he remained a PDP member, and would not defect to PDM.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and seven governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) moments ago announced the formation a new faction of the party.
