Gallant youth groups aka \u201cCivilian JTF\u201d in different local government areas of Borno State have today demonstrated rare courage by arresting 18 deadly Boko Haram Members in Konduga , Borno State.<\/p>\n
The suspected terrorist were said to have been part of the group that killed over 50 persons in Konduga coucil area some weeks back<\/p>\n
A member of the youth vigilante group Abubakar Goni said today that \u201c 18 Boko Haram members were arrested in Konduga town after serious searching and they have been handed over to security Operatives in Maiduguri the state capital<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been in Konduga Town since last week monitoring the boko haram members but we were able to arrest 18 of them and recovered a patrol vehicle\u00a0 in five different at villages of Konduga Local Government area\u201d
\nGoni said.
\nIn another development, the Police in Borno State have dismissed three policemen for a beating a pastor’s son to death in\u00a0 Gwoza\u00a0 town.<\/p>\n
The Pastor Son, Solomon Adamu , 30 attached to Mobile Police Training Camp in Gwoza town was\u00a0 killed by three Policemen says Commissioner of Police in Borno State Lawal Tanko while addressing journalists in Maiduguri<\/p>\n
“Solomon Adamu, was the son of a pastor attached to the Mobile Police Training Camp, Gwoza. He was said to have hit at a dog that has frequently barked at him.<\/p>\n
“The dog was reported to have died as a result of the kick and that infuriated the three policemen who subsequently subjected Solomon to severe punishment and he died in the process”.<\/p>\n
“Though the father of the deceased came forward to express his unwillingness to prosecute the dismissed policemen but the Police Force will be going ahead with their prosecution.” Tanko said<\/p>\n
He said” the prosecution of the case was not for the deceased’s father to determine as it was a criminal case and under the purview of the state.<\/p>\n
“The deceased’s father has been asked to tell the court that he was not interested in prosecuting the three dismissed police officer as the police would go the full distance to see that justice is done and its image is not tarnished.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe determination to prosecute the case stem from the need to withhold the Inspector General`s transformation agenda and zero tolerance to indiscipline and corruption, they cannot but be made to face the consequence of their action.”<\/p>\n
He added that the dismissal of the officers will further serve as deterrent to others, disclosing that they have already been charged to court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
