Dr Aderotimi Adelola,\u00a0the Chairman,\u00a0Ondo\u00a0State Agency for the Control of HIV and AIDS, says the\u00a0government will\u00a0train more health workers on HIV counseling and testing (HCT).<\/p>\n
Adelola, who is also\u00a0the Secretary to the State Government, said this on Tuesday in Akure at a\u00a0workshop\u00a0to train 23 additional HCT service providers to cover 23 wards in the state.<\/p>\n
He said that\u00a058 wards out of 203 wards in the state were already covered by HIV and AIDS counseling providers, adding that the government would not relent in the training until all the wards were covered.<\/p>\n
He said that\u00a0workers from\u00a0comprehensive and basic health care centres in the state were selected for the training.<\/p>\n
“This training will continue on regular basis until the target of the state government is achieved,\u2019\u2019 Adelola said.<\/p>\n
The chairman said that\u00a0HCT service providers in the state were inadequate and not evenly distributed at the community level.<\/p>\n
