Tambuwal made this disclosure in a statement issued and signed on his behalf by his Media Aide, Mallam Imam Imam. In the statement it was expressly stated that\u201dhe is not under pressure from any quarter to resign his appointment.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThe story of the purported resignation, as published in the Nigerian Pilot Newspaper of Tuesday, October 8, 2013,<br \/>\nis not true, and for all intents and purposes, is part of a larger campaign to smear the person and integrity of the Number Four Citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.\u201d \u201cThe story did not come as a surprise considering that\u00a0it is one in a line of similar fabricated stories dished \u00a0out about Tambuwal by Pilot Newspaper for sometime now.\u201d<br \/>\n*Tambuwal \u201cWhile we don\u2019t want to believe that the owners of the newspaper have allowed their platform to be used for a smear campaign on the legislature and its principal officers, we are constrained to say that allowing falsehood to be published in the guise of truth takes seeking- relevance (by the paper) too far.<br \/>\n\u201cWe want to assure Nigerians that the leadership of the House of Representatives is ever focused on delivering its constitutional mandate and will not be distracted by the antics of those who have something to hide.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cSpeaker Tambuwal and his colleagues won\u2019t resign their appointments and they won\u2019t be distracted from theirstated goals,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Mr Aminu Tambuwal Tuesday debunked rumours that he is under pressure to resign.
