An editorial staff of Peoples Daily Newspaper, Lambert Tyem, would be charged to court next Monday by the police for reporting details of \u00a0a police investigation \u00a0on the $620,000 bribe allegedly given to Farouk Lawan by oil marketer, Femi Otedola.<\/p>\n
The report, The Infrastructure News gathered, stalled police investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n
Two corporals alleged to be passing information to the reporter were dismissed last week by the police.<\/p>\n
Tyem, who was Tuesday \u00a0detained for six hours by the Special Task Force Unit at the Force Headquarters \u00a0was drilled on his source of information. The Police Special Task Force led by Commissioner of Police, Ahmadu Ali, was miffed by the accuracy of the reports which he said halted police investigations into the bribery scandal.<\/p>\n
The investigation team demanded to know how he was accessing police records on the matter accusing him of colluding with some policemen to obtain such information.<\/p>\n
The journalist would be charged to court \u00a0on Monday for conspiracy, hacking into police operations, divulging official secret and obtaining information through illegal means.<\/p>\n
He was admitted to bail for N500,000.<\/p>\n
