The Chancellor of Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo has called on
\nNigerians to join in the task of building a united country, predicting
\nthat she would not break.<\/p>\n
Bishop Oyedepo made the call Monday when he paid a courtesy visit on Akwa
\nIbom Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio at Governor’s Office, Uyo, saying “I
\nthink Nigeria is advance enough to be able to put things together to help
\nthe masses get educated depth of enlightenment, see hope on their future
\nand see opportunities in this nation”.<\/p>\n
According to him, “Once again, we are all Nigerians, this is our nation.
\nWe have no other nation. Let’s help to build and not be part of those who
\nwant to break it. We will build this nation and it shall not break.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of us have opportunity to leave outside this country forever but
\nbecause of our parents and relations we can\u2019t go anywhere. God forbid
\nthere is any war in Nigeria. There are some that don\u2019t know anywhere. They
\ndon\u2019t have understanding of how to get to anywhere and yet they are
\ncitizens of our nation”, he remarked.<\/p>\n
Oyedepo who is also the General Overseer of Living Faith Church a.k.a
\nWinners Chapel thanked Governor Akpabio, urged the media to foster unity,
\nnoting \u201cI believe the media have a lot to do in helping to show the way
\nforward. A lot of our young men are lost in Europe, America and China just
\nbecause there is not enough information going out there to show them they
\ncan make things happen here. I want to admonish that you help people to
\nsee their future.<\/p>\n
He expressed the hope that the media would rise to its responsibilities by
\neducating the masses on \u201cthe unlimited opportunities available to us in
\nour nation and help to motivate them to become contributors while they
\nengage in constructive journalism and help to see people find their
\nfootings in our great nation\u201d.<\/p>\n
Expressing hope that there is a great future with the current development
\nin the State, the man of God declared \u201cI am impressed today. I was here
\nsome years ago. I came here through the airport I have seen the roads and
\neverything, I believe there is a great future”.<\/p>\n
Governor\u00a0 Akpabio commended Bishop Oyedepo for his humility and for the
\nexploits God has used him to wrought, noting \u201cWe thank you for your
\nhumility. We will like to have a strong relationship with you.<\/p>\n
“There is something that could interest you and that is the aspect of the
\nfact that we start the year with God in Akwa Ibom by doing a major
\ninter-denominational service every year in January. We have done that
\nconsistently for over six years and when we do so I know that the
\nblessings of God are always upon the State”, Akpabio recalled.<\/p>\n
The Governor who invited the Bishop to the 2013 Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol
\nNight observed \u201cIn between, we also have a lot of thanksgiving services
\nand we have the State creation day in September, where we also presented
\nthe State to God in a solemn assembly. We also end the year with God. In
\nDecember, we chose a day and we have a major choral festival for God. We
\nhad the privilege of having Pastor Kumuyi, who presided over the assembly
\nin 2011 and Pastor Enoch Adeboye in 2012. There is no way a State like
\nours that is named after God will not like to identify with a Man God of
