Commissioner of\u00a0 Police in Yobe State, Patrick Egbuniwe confirmed killings today on phone from Damaturu, the state capital.<\/p>\n
According to him, ” four policemen, two soldiers and 34 insurgents were killed.” He added ” four other policemen sustained injury and are responding to treatment at the Damaturu General Hospital.”<\/p>\n
The commissioner said calm has retuned to the town\u00a0\u00a0 “but we have not decided to relax the 24 hours\u00a0 curfew imposed by the state government<\/p>\n
The Police Chief also revealed that police and other security forces ” are conducting shop to shop search at the Damaturu market to see if some of the these insurgents are hiding there.
