A socio-political group, South East Progressives Assembly (SEPA) says it
\nwill mobilize Ndigbo and other Nigerians against corrupt politicians
\nseeking elective offices in 2015.<\/p>\n
President of the group, Hon. Ebere Uzoukwa, who made this known when he
\nled top officials of the organization to a courtesy on Chief Emmanuel
\nIwuanyanwu in Owerri, the Imo state capital, explained that same fate also
\nawaits such persons presently occupying elective offices who are seeking
\nto re-contest their positions.<\/p>\n
He reiterated the commitment of the organization to ensure that only
\ncredible persons of proven integrity are elected into positions of
\nauthority in subsequent elections to ensure development in the country.<\/p>\n
Uzoukwa disclosed that SEPA would be collaborating with progressive-minded
\nleaders and pro-democracy groups from other geo-political zones to
\nsensitize Nigerians to restore sanity in the electoral system.<\/p>\n
While applauding Chief Iwuanyanwu\u2019s contribution to the socio-economic and
\npolitical advancement of the South East zone, Uzoukwa harped on the need
\nfor stakeholders and leaders in the zone to close ranks to pursue the
\ncollective interest of Ndigbo.<\/p>\n
Uzoukwa added that SEPA is set to organize a national political summit
\nwith the theme “NDIGBO IN THE EYES OF OTHER ETHNIC NATIONALITIES”,
\nstressing that the summit is being conceived to bridge any existing
\npolitical gap to further prepare the platform for a sustainable political
\nunderstanding between Ndigbo and other Nigerians.<\/p>\n
In his response, Chief Iwuanyanwu commended SEPA for its lofty and well-
\nthought-out objectives tailored towards promoting good governance in the
\nSouth East zone and Nigeria.
\nHe decried lack of unity and purposeful leadership in the zone and
\nstressed the need for stakeholders to come together to fight a common
\ncourse for Ndigbo.<\/p>\n
He promised to partner with SEPA to achieve its objective for the overall
\ninterest of Ndigbo and Nigerians. Chief\u00a0 Iwuanyanwu commended President
\nGoodluck Jonathan for approving the national confab and expressed optimism
\nthat South East zone would benefit from the dialogue as it would address
