THE Wife of the Delta State Governor, Roli Uduaghan, has showered gift items to the first baby of the year who was delivered in the early hours of January 1, 2014.
\nPresenting the gift items at the Central Hospital, Warri, where baby girl Pascal weigheing 3.6kg the governor\u2019s wife thanked God for the safe delivery. She committed the baby and all other children delivered on that day into God\u2019s hand.
\nShe prayed God who brought them to this world to provide for the parents the resources they need to take adequate care of the children.
\nMrs. Uduaghan, who went round the labour room, maternity and children\u2019s wards, including emergency ward, also gave them gift items and prayed for God\u2019s quick healing and perfection towards the ailing children and enjoined the women to thank God for His mercies toward them.
\nShe further advised them to serve God better than before in 2014 and always follow His footsteps.
\nSpeaking, the mother of the first baby of the year, Mrs. Peace Pascal, a housewife and native of Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State thanked God for a safe delivery, as he was experiencing childbirth for the first time.
\nMrs. Pascal, a 32 year old West African School Certificate holder said she got married a year ago to her husband, Mr. Pascal Omenka, a businessman based in Warri.
\nThe lucky mother used the occasion to pray that God will also do same to other women who were about to deliver in the labour room.<\/p>\n
The father of the baby, Mr. Pascal Omenka who was full of appreciation to God, thanked the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and his wife, Mrs. Roli Uduaghan, for their kind gesture, adding that his wife did not pay any money for the delivery, \u201ccourtesy of the State Government\u201d.<\/p>\n
Also, speaking, the Zonal Medical Director of the Central Hospital, Warri, Dr. Kingsley Aghalor disclosed that the hospital has one of the highest delivery rates in the country since the adoption of the free maternal care by the State Governor, Dr. Uduaghan.
\nIt would be recalled that the governor\u2019s wife\u2019s star gift also went to the second baby by name Baby Classy, a boy delivered at 2.20a.m. weighing 3kg while the other star gift went to the third baby, a boy named baby Omorejia delivered at 2.23a.m and weighed 3kg.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
