President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, House of Representatives’ Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state were among eminent Nigerians at Otukpo country home of Senate President Senator David Mark for the burial of his younger sister Mrs. Mary Adakole (nee Mark).<\/p>\n
President Jonathan at the requiem Mass at Otukpo sympathized with the Mark and Adakole’s families over the untimely death of their sister and wife who died in an Abuja hospital after a child birth.<\/p>\n
The President who was represented by Ministers of Police Affairs Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, Water Resources’ Sarah Ochekpe and Interior Minister Abba Moro urged the bereaved to take solace in the fact that late Mary lived an exemplary life and died as a child of God .<\/p>\n
He renewed his pledge to give the health sector a priority in order to be able save lives of citizens.<\/p>\n
President Jonathan therefore urged the health professionals to brace up to the challenges of modern health care services in the country.<\/p>\n
Speaker Tambuwal in his condolence enjoined the bereaved to see the passing away of their sister as an act beyond humans saying that only God knows when a man should be born and when a man should die.<\/p>\n
Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State in his condolence expressed sadness over the untimely death of Mary whom he described as very promising daughter of the State.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Senate President David Mark said ” it is sad that i am the one mourning my daughter instead of the other way round.”<\/p>\n
Senator Mark promised that he will continue to champion the crusade to improve health care delivery services in Nigeria so that no woman should die during labour or child birth, stressing “no woman should die while giving life. This is a sacred duty”.<\/p>\n
\nDeputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu had led scores of Senators on a condolence visit to Senator Mark at his Apo residential home in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Rev. Father Sylvester Onmoke who led other priests at the requiem mass preached peace and forgiveness stressing that death is a necessary end that must come when it shall.<\/p>\n
All that is needed, he said is to live a humble and God fearing life and be prepared because death can come at any time.<\/p>\n
Late Mary Adakole was born on January 17, 1978 and was committed to mother earth on her birthday, January 17, 2014,<\/p>\n
