The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has announced free medical
\nservices for pregnant women in Imo State as a demonstration of his love
\nfor women, children and Imo people at large.<\/p>\n
Owelle Okorocha announced this while addressing a large crowd of Imo
\npeople who came to welcome him and show solidarity on his return from his
\nabout two weeks holiday in United States of America.<\/p>\n
Governor Okorocha who assured that his administration will continue to
\nprovide more dividends of democracy to the people of the state, vowed to
\ncomplete and commission all on-going projects initiated by his Rescue
\nMission administration.<\/p>\n
Stressing the importance his administration attaches to health sector,
\nGovernor Okorocha said that all the 27 New General Hospitals and the
\nKidney Diagnostic Centre will be completed and fully equipped to serve
\npatients in the state. According to him, \u201cThis year, more children will go
\nto school, our free education programme will continue, and the 27 new
\nGeneral Hospitals will begin to admit patients.\u201d<\/p>\n
He recalled that within two years of the life his administration Orlu and
\nOkigwe have been transformed to modern cities while more new cities of
\nOrieubi, Amaraku, Anara, Akah, Akokwa, among others are being developed in
\neffort to make Imo a one-city-state.<\/p>\n
Speaking on political issues in the country, Owelle Okorocha urged Imo
\npeople and Ndi-igbo to embrace the All Progressives Congress as the only
\nparty that has a better interest of Ndi-Igbo.<\/p>\n
He lamented that the South-East is not represented in the recent
\nreshufflement of the Security Service Chiefs and therefore appealed to the
\npresidency not lose sight of the position of the South-East in the nation.<\/p>\n
Governor Okorocha described the sack of the AGPA chairman, Chief Victor
\nUmeh and the resignation of PDP Chairman, Dr. Bamanga Tukur as healthy for
\ndemocracy. He noted that democracy is all about fielding the most
\ncompetent persons, \u201cThose who ought not to lead the party must not lead
\nthe party\u201d, he maintained.<\/p>\n
He stated that the All Progressives Congress governors which he is now the
\nchairman has taken a decision to further entrench unity in the party
\nespecially in states where there are misunderstandings among stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Governor Okorocha further said that APC is at present dealing with more
\ntopical national issues and assured Imo People that he will in due course
\ndeclare his intention on which elective position to run come 2015.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile the governor has commenced the commissioning of the over 1,000
\nprojects across the State beginning with the 1.3km New Market Ring Road
\nOwerri.<\/p>\n
He said his administration undertook the construction of the Ring Road
\nwithin the market to improve the socio-economic life of the traders as
