The newly constituted Interim Executive Committees of the All Progressive
\nCongress (APC) in the South East States have been charged to carry out
\nfull mobilization and registration of members with sincerity and
\ncommitment.
\nGiving the charge during the APC South-East Inaugural meeting held at the
\nAhiajioku Convention Centre, Owerri, the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas
\nOkorocha who is also the Chairman, APC Governors\u2019 Forum, revealed that the
\nexercise will be closely supervised to ensure that only real names of
\npeople are registered adding that \u2018one man, one vote\u2019 counts in APC.
\nGovernor Okorocha who handed over the APC flag to each of the Interim
\nExecutive Committee Chairmen in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo
\nStates urged them to work diligently as to register 1,000 credible members
\nin their various wards within the specified period.
\nOwelle Okorocha maintained that APC remains the best option for Ndi-Igbo
\nas it will offer them the leadership positions and opportunity to
\nactualize the much needed reformation that brings equality and fairness in
\nnational politics.
\nHe stressed that his position in the party is a stepping stone to
\ngenerational change that will breed new crop of Igbo leaders. \u201cI can see
\nuncommon promotion, progress and peace in Igbo-land, Igbos must sing a new
\nsong!\u201d Owelle exclaimed.
\nThe Governor further urged leaders and other supporters of APC not to
\nallow tribal differences and diversity of interest to bring disunity but
\nrather, they should focus on the common vision of bringing immediate
\n\u2018change\u2019 which the party stands for.
\nIn their reports earlier, the APC National Vice Chairman, South East, Dr.
\nAnyim Nyerere and the APC National Organizing Secretary, Senator Osita
\nIzunaso both assessed the APC as doing well and the number 1 party having
\nwide acceptance in the South East as well as other parts of the country.
\nThey said the party leaders are people of integrity who carry everyone
\nalong irrespective of challenges.<\/p>\n
Contributing, the former Governorship Aspirant of the APC in Anambra
\nState, Senator Chris Ngige said he was in the party to preach peace which
\nthe nation needs most and urged well meaning Nigerians to identify with
\nthe party. Similarly, his running mate, Ani Okonkwo commended Governor
\nOkorocha for his doggedness in bringing APC to the South East which he
\nnoted is the right platform to reach the promised land of true democracy
\nin Nigeria.
\nTaking the oath of allegiance, the members of the Interim Executive
\nCommittees affirmed to abide by the constitutional guidelines and rules of
\nAPC and discharge their duties effectively.
\nResponding, the Abia State Committee Chairman, Hon. Donatus Nwamkpa and
\nthe only female Committee Chairman, Mrs. Joy Ebeh from Enugu State
\npromised to ensure that about 150 persons will be registered per pooling
\nunit.
\nAdding her voice, the APC South East Women Coordinator, Dr. Mrs. Tina
\nAdike (Aka-kpuchiri-onwa) said Nigerian women are now strong pillars in
\npolitics and are poised to support Governor Okorocha and other APC
\nstalwarts to bring national victory in 2015.
\nAlso present at the occasion were the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince
\nEze Madumere, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony
\nAnwukah, the Chief of Staff\/Commissioner for Special Duties, Sir Jude
\nEjiogu, Commissioners and other members of the Expanded Executive Council.
\nOthers were the APC Women National Leader, Chief Mrs. Sharon Ikpeazu, the
\nAPC Chairman, Imo State, Prince Marshall Okafor Anyanwu and a host of
