About 19 persons were last night Shot dead when suspected Boko Haram
\nterrorists attacked Gawo fato village in Jere local government area,
\nBorno state.<\/p>\n
Many houses were burnt down while 19 persons were killed by suspected
\nBoko Haram members, a fleeing residents of Gawo Fato told reporters.<\/p>\n
“The suspected Boko Haram members attacked our village at about 10 pm on
\nSunday night and started shooting sporadically before the burnt down
\nmany houses and fled unchallenged because of the absence of security
\noperatives ” residents said<\/p>\n
Spokesman of the Military in Borno State Colonel Muhammad Dole also
\nconfirmed the incident , but could not give number of casualty.<\/p>\n
” Yes there was an attack last night at Gawo Fato Village by suspected
\nBoko Haram terrorists but the situation is now under control since our
\ntroops moved in . For I do not have the casualty figure but the village
\nwas ransacked by suspected Boko Haram terrorists .<\/p>\n
” The village is located very close to the forest and our troops were not
\npresent there; but troops have since moved in and restored normalcy ”
