A group, Taraba Democratic Coalition has advised the new national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu to avoid the mistakes that consumed his predecessor, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.<\/p>\n
The group counseled the new chairman to quickly resolve the constitutional crisis in Taraba State, which has pitted the deputy governor, Alhaji Garba Umar against Governor Danbaba Suntai.<\/p>\n
The group described the Taraba crisis as the first acid test Mu’azu would face as PDP national chairman. The statement was signed by national coordinator Danjuma Alhassan.<\/p>\n
“One of the storms ahead of you, clearly, sir is the thorny Taraba state political crisis. Today Taraba has a substantive governor and an acting governor cohabiting in the same capital,” the group lamented.<\/p>\n
According to the group, that “unconstitutional contraption is headed by a desperate deputy governor who has refused to step down even after his boss had returned.<\/p>\n
” This deputy governor, whom the governor brought out of obscurity, has scandalously even slammed a house arrest on the governor as we write this,” the group claimed.<\/p>\n
Taraba Democratic Coalition blamed the ” escalation of the crisis” on Tukur whom they regretted failed to conduct himself like and elder statesman.<\/p>\n
“Instead of behaving like a leader and elder statesman, Tukur became parochial, religious and provincial and took sides in a matter that requires impartiality and tact.
\n“He openly demonstrated his hatred for the person of Governor Danbaba Suntai, who initially, you should note sir, did not support Tukur’s candidacy for the top job in the great party.<\/p>\n
Shortly after an” unforgiving Tukur emerged national chairman,” claimed the group, he (Tukur) resolved to exact his point of flesh from Suntai.<\/p>\n
\nThe group listed the Senator Hope Uzodinma-led PDP team appointed by Tukur to visit Suntai in a US hospital as one of the several acts of vendetta launched be the deposed PDP chairman.<\/p>\n
The Coalition appealed to the new PDP chairman to correct the anomaly in Taraba State and reverse the dwindling fortunes of the party ahead of the next general elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
