{"id":21938,"date":"2014-01-26T15:55:30","date_gmt":"2014-01-26T14:55:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=21938"},"modified":"2014-01-26T15:55:30","modified_gmt":"2014-01-26T14:55:30","slug":"mass-exodus-hits-apc-as-bafarawa-supporters-defect-to-pdp-shekarau-may-also-follow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/mass-exodus-hits-apc-as-bafarawa-supporters-defect-to-pdp-shekarau-may-also-follow\/","title":{"rendered":"Mass Exodus Hits APC, As Bafarawa, Supporters, Defect To PDP     \u2026Shekarau May Also Follow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aggrieved pioneer members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Sokoto<br \/>\nstate led by former Governor Attahiru Bafarwa and his supporters have<br \/>\ndefected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n<p>Bafarawa and his supporters accused the APC of deception and injustice<br \/>\nafter the party insisted that former PDP Governor Aliyu Wamakko who moved<br \/>\nto the APC is the new leader.<\/p>\n<p>The former Sokoto Governor and his supporters concluded their defection<br \/>\nlast Friday.<\/p>\n<p>This is even as the APC is set for a major crack which will see a massive<br \/>\ndefection following internal battles between supporters of General<br \/>\nMohammadu Buhari and former Lagos State Governor, Senator Ahmed Bola<br \/>\nTinubu over leadership positions in the party.<\/p>\n<p>APC is yet to hold a convention to elect its substantive officers months<br \/>\nafter the merger of CPC, ACN and ANPP to form the party.<\/p>\n<p>Also, sources told Pointblanknews.com that former Kano Governor, Ibrahim<br \/>\nShekarau who is also having a running battle with Governor Musa Kwankwaso<br \/>\nover who controls the APC structure in the state is \u201cseriously<br \/>\nconsidering\u201d a move to the PDP.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman to former Governor Bafarawa confirmed the defection, saying the<br \/>\ndecision was reached after a meeting with former Governor Shekarau.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, we have defected to PDP.
