{"id":22180,"date":"2014-01-31T11:27:23","date_gmt":"2014-01-31T10:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=22180"},"modified":"2014-01-31T11:27:23","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T10:27:23","slug":"jonathan-never-accused-former-service-chiefs-of-unnecessary-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/jonathan-never-accused-former-service-chiefs-of-unnecessary-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Jonathan Never Accused Former Service Chiefs of \u201cUnnecessary Competition\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"messagecontent\">\n<div>\n<div id=\"messagebody\">\n<div>\n<p>Reports in the media yesterday which claimed that President Jonathan said<br \/>\nduring his visit to Yola on Tuesday that he \u201cfired\u201d former service chiefs<br \/>\nbecause of \u201cunhealthy competition\u201d amongst them are untrue and misleading.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It appears that for reasons of mischief and reckless sensationalism, a<br \/>\nsection of the media deliberately chose to misrepresent the President\u2019s<br \/>\ninnocuous and clear call for greater synergy and inter-service cooperation<br \/>\nin the war against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President Jonathan did not at anytime during his remarks in Yola say that<br \/>\nthe former chiefs were guilty of undue rivalry, nor did he say, as claimed<br \/>\nby some newspapers, that such unhealthy rivalry was responsible for recent<br \/>\nsecurity breaches in Adamawa and other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and Chief Security Officer of<br \/>\nthe Federation, President Jonathan is fully aware of the importance and<br \/>\nsensitivity of all defence and security-related matters.
