FORMER governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, on Sunday blasted some
\nmembers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Abia State led by
\nGovernor Theodore Orji who, at the weekend, marched to the party\u2019s
\nnational headquarters in Abuja to plead with the new chairman, Alhaji
\nAdamu Mu\u2019azu, not to allow the imminent formalization of his readmission
\ninto the party.<\/p>\n
In a statement released yesterday (Sunday) by Kalu\u2019s media advisor, Mr.
\nEbere Wabara, the former governor declared that the so-called \u2018stalwarts\u2019
\n\u201cwere cowards and renegades bent on pulling the hands of the clock back
\nout of sheer ignorance and pecuniary enslavement.\u201d<\/p>\n
His words: \u201cGeneral Ike Nwachukwu (retd), who was directed by his
\ngovernor-benefactor to speak on the team\u2019s behalf, is a spent force with
\nno mind of his anymore due to senility. He is politically irrelevant and
\ncould understandably be cowed and used by any mischief-maker for
\nmercantilist jobs.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs for the moronic governor who was the cheer leader and the state\u2019s
\ndocile members of the National Assembly that sheepishly accompanied him,
\nthey are mere rascals and anti-democracy elements who do not mean well for
\nthe party and our state they purport to represent. It is unfortunate that
\nthey do not understand the new thrust of politics in Nigeria and the PDP
\nethos of all-inclusive participatory regime.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese idle folk from Abia State who are obviously afflicted by dementia
\nand pettiness need our party\u2019s assistance to rescue them from political
\ncesspit. As for me, these so-called \u2018stalwarts\u2019 are like bulls in the PDP
\nchina shop. They need to be quarantined away from the party\u2019s chair,\u201d the
\nformer governor said.<\/p>\n
Kalu enjoined the new PDP chairman \u201cto disregard such retrogressive,
\nvicious and mischievous wild-cat interruptions that border on duplicitous
\nmotives and crass clownishness,\u201d he pointed out, wondering why just \u201cone
\nman would be giving a bunch of trembling ignoramuses sleepless nights. I
\nsympathize with the minority clan of anarchists and urge Mu\u2019azu to ignore
