The Conference of Nigerian Political Party, CNPP has accused President
\nGoodluck Jonathan of witch-hunting over the suspension of Mallam Sanusi
\nLamido Sanusi as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.<\/p>\n
CNPP in a press statement signed by Osita Okechukwu, said the suspension
\nis in bad faith especially coming at a time when Sanusi had accused some
\npersons in Government of squandering oil revenues.<\/p>\n
The statement reads:<\/p>\n
“Whereas, the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties {CNPP} cannot fault
\nthe powers of President Goodluck E. Jonathan, GCFR to suspend any official
\nof the Federal Government ; however we rate the suspension of Governor
\nCentral Bank of Nigeria {CBN}, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as selective,
\nwitch-hunt and one done strictly in bad faith.<\/p>\n
“For the avoidance of doubt, for a long time tongues have been wagging on
\nthe way and manner Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi had converted the CBN into a
\ncharity organization; but Mr President did not take special notice nor was
\ndeeply concerned until Malam Sanusi opened the Pandorax-Box in what we may
\nterm the cash-cow – Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation {NNPC}.<\/p>\n
“CNPP like most patriots will celebrate the day President Jonathan
\nsuspends those whom Malam Sanusi had clearly exposed for allegedly
\nsquandering billions of\u00a0 United States Dollars {USD} of Crude Oil revenue
\nwithout due process, lack of transparency and most importantly utter
\ndisregard to appropriation by the National Assembly.<\/p>\n
“Until then, we regard the suspension of the Governor of Central Bank of
\nNigeria, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as selective, witch-hunt and
