The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Chief
\nGodswill Akpabio has assured Nigerians of total victory for the party in
\n2015 general elections if the PDP faithful in Imo State are united.<\/p>\n
Akpabio, who stated this Saturday at the PDP sensitization rally held at
\nDan Anyiam Stadium, Imo State\u00a0 to receive defectors from APGA to PDP,
\nhinted that the party did not lose election in 2007 elections but lost
\ncalculation, promising of total victory for the party in 2015.<\/p>\n
The Chairman, PDP Governors’ Forum who is also Akwa Ibom Governor\u00a0 opined
\nthat to ensure\u00a0 total victory\u00a0 for the PDP, the party faithful must live
\nin unity and contribute to the development of Imo State by being good
\nsupporters of noble cause provided by the party to change the fortune of
\nthe state.<\/p>\n
He stated that the party had already realized its mistake of the past and
\ndetermined to ensure PDP is returned to Imo state in the future.<\/p>\n
Chief Achike Udenwa, a one-time Governor of Imo State said
\nhis decision to return to PDP\u00a0 was necessitated\u00a0 by the wishes of his
\nsupporters, and promised to deliver Imo State to PDP at all levels in the
\n2015 general elections.<\/p>\n
The National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu
\nMu’azu said the return of founding members of PDP in the state was a
\nclear testimony of a new dawn in the political sphere of the party.<\/p>\n
Mu’azu who described PDP as the winning party in the country urged
\nparty members to work together for the success of the party in 2015.<\/p>\n
Those who returned to PDP are Chief Achike Udenwa, former Governor of the
\nstate; Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, former Senator in the state;\u00a0 Senator
\nChristy Anyanwu representing Imo and Chief Mike Ahamba, among others.<\/p>\n
In the same vein, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has described the
\nPeoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the hub which democracy in Nigeria
\nrevolves.<\/p>\n
Dr. Jonathan who stated this at the Peoples Democratic Sensitization Rally
\nin Imo State noted, \u201cThere would be no democracy in Nigeria without the
\nPDP. The Peoples Democratic Party is the only political party in Nigeria
\nthat follows democratic principles and the rule of law. It is the only
\nparty that can unite this country”.<\/p>\n
Dr. Jonathan further described PDP as the only political party in Nigeria
\nwith consistent policies and principles, saying \u201cSince we started PDP in
\n1999; the name has not changed, the logo has not changed and or slogan has
\nnot changed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are here because some of us who for one reason or the other stepped
\naside have stepped back to the party. Today, we are witnessing the unity
\nof Peoples Democratic Party and the party will now be strong as it was in
\n1999. Imo State has been a PDP State and will continue to be PDP\u201d, he
\nmaintained.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by who is who in the PDP including the Senate
\nPresident, Senator David Mark; Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike
\nEkweremadu, Chief Tony Anenih, Chairman, BoT of PDP and some PDP
