Governor Godswill Akpabio has expressed optimism that the on-going capital
\nprojects in Akwa Ibom would create employment opportunities to enhance the
\nliving standards of the people in the state.<\/p>\n
Akpabio accompanied by some Nigerian entrepreneurs stated this Tuesday in
\nan interview with journalists after inspecting the ongoing 20th
\nAnniversary Hospital and Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo.<\/p>\n
According to him, “The quality of the projects is good and the timing is
\nright and these projects would create employment opportunities to enhance
\nthe living and standard of the people. I believe this stadium project
\nwould be completed September of this year”.<\/p>\n
At the inspection of the on-going 20th Anniversary Hospital, Uyo, he
\nremarked “This hospital is going to be a first-class specialist hospital
\nfor Nigerians that involves major surgeries that would be undertaken my
\nmedical expatriates, which would cut down capital flight of Nigerians
\ntraveling abroad for medical treatment”.<\/p>\n
The Governor said the hospital will curb medical tourism to India by
\nNigerians, and hoped that the hospital would be handled by medical
\nexpatriates to answer the needs of the people.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Sayyu Dantata, Chairman of MRS Group who was among those visiting
\nthe state, commended governor Akpabio for the capital projects he has
\nexecuted in the state, saying “It is one Governor and the rest. The
\nprojects are beyond imagination. It gives the state a different
\ntransformational face. Let other leaders emulate the transformational
\nqualities of Governor Akpabio. I want Akwa Ibom people to cooperate with
\nand pray for him”.<\/p>\n
Dr. Eruani Azibapu, Group President of Aziekel Group who also spoke said
\nthat he is proud of the state Governor, stating” Akpabio has redefined
\ngovernment. This is what we hope for Nigeria. What I have seen in Akwa
\nIbom is marvelous. They are not political projects”.<\/p>\n
Azibapu, therefore, called on Nigerians to visit the state to witness the
\ntransformation in the state.<\/p>\n
The Managing Director of SO&U, advertising and marketing company, Mr.
\nUdeme Ufort said that the projects in the state have redefined
\ndevelopment, redefined the people and redefined confidence in Nigeria,
\nsaying that what is seen in the state is what is being seen in other parts
\nof the world and stressed that the Governor has given to the people of the
\nstate more than expected.<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the Chairman, Rebdan & Associates, Abuja, Mr. Teddy Nwanne
\ncompared the projects seen in the state to what he saw in South Africa,
\nstressing that the projects are verifiable and genuine, urging the next
\nstate Governor to continue with the transformation strides of Governor
\nAkpabio.<\/p>\n
Later at a courtesy visit to the Governor in his office, Uyo, Dr. Eruani
\nAzibapu said that the projects are modern, assuring governor Akpabio that
\nhe will continue to support him by praying for him of God to see him
\nthrough his administration.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Sayyu Dantata also commended Governor Akpabio for transforming the
\nstate, and hoped that the people of the state would never forget him after
