The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State chapter has expressed
\nanger over the continued threat to the lives of its members across the
\nState.<\/p>\n
This is coming on the heels of the assassination of one of its members,
\nHon Sotonye Bobmanuel, a serving councilor in Akuku-Toru Local Government
\nArea of the State about 9.45pm Sunday night.<\/p>\n
Happening a few days after the kidnap of three stalwarts of the party who
\nare still being held captive, the PDP in a statement by Jerry Needam,
\nSpecial Adviser on Media to the State Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah said this
\nis nothing short of a calculated plot by political opponents to provoke
\nthe party and ignite crisis in the State.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s now crystal clear, the Statement remarks why these agents of
\ndisharmony and destruction were hell-bent on seeing the former
\nCommissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu transferred out of the State.<\/p>\n
According to PDP, and from empirical evidence, there is no denying the
\nfact that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi\u2019s agents, the All Progressives
\nCongress, APC, and the Save Rivers Movement are responsible for the
\nunfortunate acts of lawlessness in the State.<\/p>\n
The PDP regrets that even in the face of all this, Governor Amaechi
\nremains unperturbed and is rather busy celebrating.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe condemn these inhuman and lawless acts in their entirety and call for
\nan immediate stop of the senseless insurgency and also appeal to the
\nsecurity agencies to wake up to these challenges posed by these
\nundesirable elements and enemies of the State.<\/p>\n
This is the only way to guarantee peace and harmonious co-existence in the
\nState since no one person or group has a monopoly of violence\u201d, the PDP
