If the speculation filtering to our newsroom is anything to go by, there is the likelihood that Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly Hon Victor Ochei who report alleged he resigned his position recently maybe teaming up with Chief Great Ovadje Ogboru in Labour Party (LP) to struggle out the governorship ticket of the state in other to succeed Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
\nThe opportunity has given the duo the chance to swing into massive consultation across the state and in Abuja ahead of the election.
\nThere are speculations already that Ochei is working with DPP\u2019s henchman, Chief Great Ogboru, to run for the governorship on the platform of the Labour Party.
\nThe two political heavyweights \u2013 Ochei and Ogboru, resigned and decamped unceremoniously two days ago and last month respectively.
\nA close source to the Speaker said: \u201cThe Speakership position has tied him down for so long.
\n\u201cAs a result of the enormous duties attached to the office, he could not reach out as it should be.
\n\u201cBut now that he has dropped the job, he can now go into a full-blown campaign.\u201d
\nThe actions of Ochei and Ogboru have continued to generate uneasy calm across the political divide of the oil rich state, as people are wondering the scenario that will play out.
\nWhile Ogboru has become the godfather of opposition politics in the state, Ochei, pundits said in Asaba, \u201cmay soon wear the toga should the ruling Peoples Democratic Party refuse him its ticket.\u201d
\nAlthough, Ochei did not mention the 2015 governorship race in his resignation letter, he wants to pave the way for a new leadership to emerge in the House.
\nIt was however gathered that the resignation would afford him the opportunity to be one of those that would fly out of the PDP if the party\u2019s primary election is unfavourable as it happened with Chief Peter Okocha, who joined the defunct Action Congress after he allegedly spent millions to no avail to secure the PDP ticket in 2007.
\nRegistered political parties in the state have since left their doors open for aggrieved aspirants in the PDP to enter.
