{"id":24447,"date":"2014-03-19T16:00:11","date_gmt":"2014-03-19T15:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=24447"},"modified":"2014-03-19T16:00:11","modified_gmt":"2014-03-19T15:00:11","slug":"jonathan-cancels-immigration-recruitment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/jonathan-cancels-immigration-recruitment\/","title":{"rendered":"Jonathan Cancels Immigration Recruitment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;\">* Offers automatic jobs to injured applicants, 3 relations of each victim \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;\">President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the complete cancellation of Saturday&#8217;s <span class=\"e0z3n\" id=\"e0z3n_7\">recruitment exercise<\/span> of the Nigerian <span class=\"e0z3n\" id=\"e0z3n_5\">Immigration Service<\/span> (NIS).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">Information Minister Labaran Maku disclosed this to State House correspondents today after the weekly Federal <span class=\"e0z3n\" id=\"e0z3n_3\">Executive Council<\/span> (FEC) meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">The minister said the council devoted the meeting to express grief over the death of applicants who lost their lives to stampedes during the exercise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">Maku said the council regretted the incident and expressed condolences to the families of the victims and sympathised with the injured.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">He said the president announced<br \/>\nautomatic employment for three relations of each of the victims, with one beneficiary to be a female.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">The minister added that Jonathan also directed that automatic employment be given to all the applicants who sustained <span class=\"e0z3n\" id=\"e0z3n_8\">injuries<\/span> during the exercise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">He said the president ordered a fresh recruitment exercise into the NIS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px none; outline: 0px none; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; text-align: justify;\">The <span class=\"e0z3n\" id=\"e0z3n_6\">new exercise<\/span>, whose date he said would be announced later, would be conducted by a committee chaired by the chairman of the <span class=\"e0z3n\" id=\"e0z3n_1\">Federal Civil Service<\/span> Commission.
