President Goodluck Jonathan will on Thursday jets out to Namibia, Italy
\nand Holland for a six days three-nation trip.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Wednesday by Presidential Spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati,
\nthe President will join other world leaders, including President Barrack
\nObama of the United States, President Francois Hollande of France, Prime
\nMinister David Cameron of Britain and Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany
\nat the 2014 global Nuclear Security Summit which opens at the Hague in
\nHolland on Monday, March 24, 2014.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the President, accompanied by his wife,
\nPatience, will leave Abuja for Windhoek early on Thursday for a two-day
\nstate visit to Namibia in the course of which he will participate in a
\nbusiness forum aimed at boosting trade and economic relations between
\nNigeria and Namibia.<\/p>\n
He will also attend the celebration of Namibia\u2019s 24th Independence
\nAnniversary as a special guest of honour on Friday before departing for
\nRome and the Vatican for talks on Saturday with Pope Francis and the
\nVatican\u2019s Secretary of State, Monsignor Pietro Parolin.<\/p>\n
The statement read, \u201cThe President will leave Italy for the Netherlands
\nafter conferring with the Pope and he is scheduled to lead a high-powered
\nNigerian delegation to talks on Sunday with the Dutch Prime Minister, Mr.
\nMark Rutte and senior officials of the Dutch Government before the opening
\nof the Nuclear Security Summit on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cPresident Jonathan will, later that day, meet with the Chief Executive
\nOfficer and other high-ranking officials of the Nigerian National
\nPetroleum Corporation\u2019s largest joint venture partners, Shell Petroleum
\nInternational, which has its headquarters in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President will also witness the signing of an investment agreement
\nbetween Nigeria and Dutch textile giants, Vlisco and meet with Nigerians
\nliving in the Netherlands during his visit.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe will be accompanied by the Minister of Defence, Lt.-Gen. Aliyu Gusau
\n(rtd.), the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), the
\nMinister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Aminu Wali, the Minister of Petroleum
\nResources, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke, the Minister of Industry, Trade
\nand Investments, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, the Minister of Communications and
\nICT, Mrs. Omobola Johnson and other senior government officials.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jonathan is expected to leave the Netherlands for Abuja at the conclusion
