The Police have dragged 14 persons before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates\u2019
\nCourt, Iyaganku, on Tuesday for alleged demonstration, malicious damage
\nand destroying innocent people\u2019s property.<\/p>\n
The accused were allegedly demonstrating over Soka\u2019s kidnappers\u2019 den.<\/p>\n
The accused -Taye Lamidi,18; Samson Opeyemi, 22; Uchenna Anthony ,20;
\nSunday Ebedi, 19; Sakiru Ogunjobi, 19; Jamiu Oriolowo, 23; Jubril Bakare,
\n25, and Samuel Kayode, 25- were all in court.<\/p>\n
Others are Adeniyi Adetunji, 34; Pinnock Folorunso, 24; Habib Adekola, 22;
\nSuraju Adeoye, 28; Bayo Okunlola, 26; and Ahmed Yishau.<\/p>\n
The accused were arraigned on a three counts of conspiracy, demonstration
\nand malicious damage.<\/p>\n
The Prosecutor, Mr James Oriola, alleged that the accused conspired to
\ncommit misdemeanour with malicious damage.<\/p>\n
Oriola said all the accused willfully and maliciously damaged the front
\nand back wind screens of one Toyota Camry valued at N100,000, property of
\none Mrs. Josephine Jolayemi.<\/p>\n
He also alleged that all the accused conducted themselves in a manner
\nlikely to cause a breach of the peace by demonstrating and destroying
\ninnocent citizen\u2019s property.<\/p>\n
Oriola said the offence was committed on March 23 at Soka area, Ibadan.<\/p>\n
He said the offence contravened sections 249 (d) , 451 and 517 of the
\nCriminal Code Cap 38, Vol.II, Laws of Oyo State 2000.<\/p>\n
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Risikat Ebelokun\u2013Mustapha, granted all the
\naccused bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.<\/p>\n
