{"id":25028,"date":"2014-04-04T13:19:19","date_gmt":"2014-04-04T12:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=25028"},"modified":"2014-04-04T13:19:19","modified_gmt":"2014-04-04T12:19:19","slug":"we-wont-impose-candidates-in-apc-tinubu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/we-wont-impose-candidates-in-apc-tinubu\/","title":{"rendered":"We Won\u2019t Impose Candidates In APC \u2013 Tinubu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has assured members of the party that there would not be any imposition of candidates in the congresses of the party.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu who spoke at the party secretariat in the state on ACME Road, Ikeja, Lagos, during the Stakeholders\u2019 Forum called by the party to sensitise members on\u00a0the coming congresses.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Also at the event, two former prominent members of the party who have defected to other parties made a grand return to the party.<\/p>\n<p>They are former Deputy Governor of the state during the regime of Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, Chief Rafiu Bakare Adeyefa Jafojo; and a former House of Representatives member in the Second Republic, Chief Rasheed Shitta-Bey known to many as Jabita.<\/p>\n<p>Tinubu was so elated at their return that he rechristened them: Jafojo thus became Bababowale (our elder has returned home) and Shitta-Bey became Adebowale (the crown is back home).<\/p>\n<p>On the APC congresses which start on Saturday, 5th April, 2014, with the ward congress, Tinubu stated that the party remains committed to democratic principle hence it will ensure that the voice and choice of party members emerge at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not impose any candidate on our members.
