A non-governmental pressure group, Progressive Friends Foundation-PFF has
\nreiterated its commitment to working for the return of Dr. Goodluck
\nJonathan as Nigeria\u2019s President in 2015.<\/p>\n
Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Group, Senator Ibrahim Mantu made the
\ndisclosure while addressing participants at the group\u2019s 2014 Summit held
\nin Abuja.<\/p>\n
Senator Mantu, who was represented by a former member of the House of
\nRepresentatives, Hon. Labra Musa Wayep insisted that the present
\nadministration has done well and deserves another chance to govern.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe in the governance of Jonathan. If a man is good, tell him he is
\ngood. If a man has capacity, allow him to do what he needs to do. A little
\nencouragement makes the difference. Jonathan has taken the bull by the
\nhorn and done what no President has done in a very long time. We must do
\naway with sentiments and work to make Nigeria great. Given another
\nopportunity as Nigerian President, the country will be a very different
\nplace.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cQuote me, in a long time, we have not had a government where the northern
\nextraction has enjoyed so much appointments like this one. Time has come
\nfor Nigerians to begin to think of what to do to better Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also speaking, National Chairman of the group, Chief Innocent Nyingerifaka
\ncommended the President for what he described as an excellent performance
\nin office and urged all Nigerians to support him in 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cJonathan has performed excellently well in all sectors of governance and
\nfulfilled his political promises to the people. Only good governance can
\nmove this country forward. We must work to promote our democracy and build
\npeace and friendship across the Niger. President Goodluck Jonathan is
\ndoing well and we want to work together to support him for a second
\ntenure.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adding his voice, National Director of Programmes and activities of the
\ngroup, Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa described President Jonathan as a symbol of
\ngood governance and urged all to support his administration.<\/p>\n
He further described the PFF as a body committed to promoting National
\nUnity by building friendship across the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have come to recognize the President of the Federal Republic of
\nNigeria as a symbol of good governance. This administration has given us a
\nclean breath from the perilous acts of economic depression and doom in
\nthis country. The parameters are there. He may have been faced with
\nseveral challenges, yet he is very focused, courageous and committed to
\nthe transformation agenda. We are here, not just to work for the 2015
\nProject, but for the unity of Nigeria. Our mission is to build the bridge
\nof friendship across this country. We must protect the future of Nigeria.
\nWe shall continue to drive and promote good governance in Nigeria. Nigeria
\nis an ongoing Project and we must contribute our quota to ensure that it
\nworks.\u201d<\/p>\n
The summit was attended by very important dignitaries, among whom are: the
\nDirector General of the Foundation, Dr. Maxwell Eremie; North-East
\nCoordinator, Major General Yakubu Usman (Rtd); Hon. Elizabeth Igwe, Mrs.
\nRhoda Yisa Doko, Dr. Sam Jaja, Comrade Ali Abacha, Barr. D.D. Azuura,
