President Goodluck Jonathan has terminated the appointment of his Special
\nAdviser(Political), Alhaji Ahmed A. Gulak with immediate effect.<\/p>\n
President Jonathan thanks Alhaji Gulak for his services to the present
\nadministration and wishes him success in his future endeavors.<\/p>\n
This information was contained in a series of tweets by the President\u2019s
\nspokesman, Reuben Abati (@abati1990)<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that Gulak had irked some PDP chieftains in Akwa Ibom
\nwhen he made a comment during his recent visit that the party would not
\ntolerate imposition of candidate, apparently referring to Governor
\nGodswill Akpabio’s resolve to zone the Governorship of the State to Eket
\nSenatorial zone.<\/p>\n
A statement from Akwa Ibom PDP had said:<\/p>\n
\u201cAhmad Gulak should remember that he is merely a Presidential aide who has
\nno business dictating what happens in PDP States as much and far as
\nElections 2015 is concerned\u201d.\u201cHe should not abuse his office by making
\ncareless and caustic statements capable of dragging the Presidency and the
\nNational Chairman of PDP into disrepute\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf Gulak wants to campaign for choice aspirants in Akwa Ibom and other
\nPDP States, I suggest that he resigns from office in order to fully
\nprovide consultancy services to his gubernatorial clients\u201d.<\/p>\n
Gulak had stated that there will be No Imposition of Candidates by the PDP
\nin 2015 as it is against the tenets of democracy which guarantees freedom
\nof choice by the people and against the stand of Mr President as the
\nleader of the party and that of the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji
\nAdamu Mua’zu. He advised prospecting aspirants for 2015 elections under
\nthe umbrella of the PDP to go back and consult the party leaders at the
\ngrassroots as PDP candidates for the 2015 would be selected, he also
\ncommended Mr.Umana Okon Umana for his support to President Goodluck
\nJonathan administration and Goodluck Jonathan Support Group in Akwa Ibom
\nState.<\/p>\n
Ahmed Gulak whose Goodluck Support Group, GSG has been embroiled in series
\nof scandals across its chapters in London and the United States with
\nquestionable characters as coordinators and heads was in strong terms
