After using inhaler without success, she was taken to a nearby hospital, but they were told that the doctor was not around..<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div id=\"id_5363c039cd0c18873032579\">They then went to the teaching hospital in Enugu, where they were again told that the doctors were on strike. It was while they were taking her to another hospital that she died.\u201d The husband disclosed this while receiving delegates from the national executive of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) who paid him a condolence visit.<br \/>\nNANTAP President, Babatunde Obalana snr., who led the delegation, while commiserating with the family, described the late Amaka as an institution, an epitome of excellence. \u201cHonestly, I am still in shock.<br \/>\nHer death is one death that is numbing, confusing, you just can\u2019t understand. The only way I have been able to rationalise it is perhaps God needed a director in heaven and He had to pick the best \u2013 because Amaka was top of the class, a fantastic wife, a devoted and caring mother, a supportive friend, very loyal, trustworthy and honest almost to a fault.<br \/>\n\u201cAs far as honesty is concerned, I know not many directors who are that honest, extremely brilliant, and all her creative works speak for her. She broke several records. Today, she remains the biggest female director in this industry.<br \/>\n\u201cShe is an institution of creative abundance, talent, intelligence, potentialities. She remains an epitome of excellence in its entire ramification; very stylish, and when you see her productions, you can only doff your hat for her. She does her research.
