{"id":26068,"date":"2014-05-02T23:26:12","date_gmt":"2014-05-02T22:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=26068"},"modified":"2014-05-02T23:26:12","modified_gmt":"2014-05-02T22:26:12","slug":"nyanya-mark-mourns-attack-calls-for-security-vigilance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/nyanya-mark-mourns-attack-calls-for-security-vigilance\/","title":{"rendered":"Nyanya: Mark mourns attack &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;calls for security vigilance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, yesterday mourned the death of Nigerians that were killed in the bomb blast that occured in Nyanya, Federal Capital Territory.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Senator Mark, who condemned the attack on innocent and harmless Nigerians as cowardly and irresponsible, prayed that those who were injured will quickly recover.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He called on Nigerians, &#8220;to more than ever before become security alert and engage in citizen policing.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;We must become security proactive as individuals or as a family. There are stronger needs to report every suspicious items or movements around us to any available security agencies,&#8221; he further advised.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to him, &#8220;it is true that government has a responsibility to provide security for her citizenry.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;It is most true that the citizen has a duty to make information available to government for the latter to carry out its onerous security responsibilities.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&#8220;The time has come for every citizen to become a watchman or watchwoman as well as whistle blower in support of our security agencies against these irresponsible and senseless insurgents, who are bent on waging war against our nation.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Senator Mark also urged security agencies not to relent in their task of intelligence gathering against the insurgents, urging them to continue to collaborate with dedicated, honest and patriotic Nigerians who are prepared to provide them with relevant information.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He further noted that though these are testy times for our country, he however assured that our nation will triumph over these insurgents even as he urged Nigerians to stand together in the bid to defeat insurgency and terrorism.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Signed:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Kola Ologbondiyan<\/div>\n<div>Special Adviser, Media &amp; Publicity to the President of the Senate.<\/div>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, yesterday mourned the death of Nigerians that were killed in the bomb blast that occured in Nyanya, Federal Capital Territory.
