In appreciation of its customers\u2019 patronage in the previous year, the
\nmanagement of Dangote Cement Plc has rewarded its distributors financially
\nwhen it showered them with bonuses amounting to N1.25billion.<\/p>\n
It was\u00a0 naira rain for distributors of the leading Cement manufacturer, as
\neach and every one of the distributors at a forum in Lagos went home with
\nmouth-watering reward for keeping faith with the
\nCompany and its product.<\/p>\n
Each of the distributors was presented with a cheque in the sum of his
\nbonus with the highest bonus of N62 million awarded to Chinedu & Son
\nInvestment Nigeria Limited, as the Number One Customer for the year 2013.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Chairman of the company, Aliko Dangote had earlier in the day
\ndisclosed during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) that the company sold
\n13.3m tons of the product in 2013 a feat he said was attained with the
\npatronage of the distributors.<\/p>\n
He said the payment of the bonus was to celebrate the distributors for
\ntheir unflinching loyalty and commitment to Dangote Cement, which remains
\nthe Number One cement brand in Nigeria in spite of the intense competition
\nin the industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe could not have achieved this enviable feat without your immense
\ncontributions. That is why we have gathered here to show you our sincere
\nappreciation.\u00a0 I am delighted to note that during the year you have
\nfine-tuned your sales and marketing strategies to remain on top
\nof the game, as the excellent results we posted for last year demonstrate,
\nand this has allowed us to remain in our leading position\u201d, Dangote
\nstated.<\/p>\n
He said that the meteoric rise of Chinedu & Son from the 13th position
\nlast year, to number one in 2014, attested to the unrelenting spirit of
\nthe human enterprise and enjoined others not to rest on their oars as it
\nis often easier to get to the top than to remain there.<\/p>\n
Dangote noted \u201cTo remain on top of your game, you must strive to
\nconstantly improve on your best. To do this, you must be innovative. The
\nfuture belongs to those that are creative and innovative in their approach
\nto doing business. Forward-looking organizations constantly seek
\ninnovative ways of doing things in order to stay ahead of the pack.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Dangote Cement boss then used the occasion to formally introduce the
\nCompany\u2019s new grade of cement\u2014the 42.5 grade popularly known as Dangote
\nCement 3X, Big Boss or Big Oga, describing it as a demonstration of the
\nCompany\u2019s commitment to its customers.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a demonstration of our commitment to excellence. It is also a
\ndemonstration of our commitment to quality. The 3X stands for \u2018extra
\nstrength,\u2019 \u2018extra yield\u2019 and \u2018extra life,\u2019 and it is the product of many
\nyears of research and development. We believe in going the \u2018extra\u2019 mile
\nfor you, our distributors and customers, the end users.<\/p>\n
\u201cVery soon, we will introduce another higher grade brand of 52.5 cement.
\nThe 42.5 grade and 52.5 grade will serve different purposes and will give
\nconsumers more options\u201d, he explained.<\/p>\n
In his own address of welcome, Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement
\nPlc, Devakumar Edwin thanked the distributors for their loyalty to Dangote
\ncement brand pointing out that they must have seen that they have made a
\nmistake for choosing to do business with the company. He promised that the
\ncement Company would continue to show appreciation to them and urged them
\nto strive to sell more Dangote cement this year and they would also be
\nrewarded more saying; one good turn deserves another.<\/p>\n
Edwin used the occasion to dispel the insinuations in some quarters that
\nthe price of the product has been increased noting that despite the
\nspiraling increase in our cost of production, \u201cwe have no plans for any
\nmajor increase in the selling price of cement.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued; \u201cas an ethical organization, we believe in putting our
\ncustomers and our consumers first, before profits. We believe in creating
\nvalue in a sustainable manner. We believe in making our products
\naffordable to enable the ordinary Nigerian have a roof over his head. We
