Kaduna State governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero who also spoke at the event said no amount of fighting or violence can bring one power but only God, and pleaded for peaceful coexistence among the people of the state and the nation as a whole.<\/p>\n
Speaking earlier, the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr Sa\u2019ad Abubakar tasked people with Islamic religious knowledge to imbibe the culture of educating the common folks with the basic tenets of Islam wherever they find themselves.<\/p>\n
Represented by the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, the Sultan noted that Nigeria is a country with diverse cultures and religious backgrounds where the natives speak different languages, and called on Muslims to propagate Islam.<\/p>\n
In his welcome address, the author of the books, Dr Aminu Ladan Shareru said lack of knowledge of Arabic is no more an excuse not to learn the basic facts and principles of Islam.<\/p>\n
According to him, fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam but it must be done as stipulated in the Qur\u2019an, which is why the book was written to enlighten the Muslim faithful on the right way of fasting.<\/p>\n
The books written by Dr Shareru are entitled \u201cFasting According to Islamic Law\u201d and \u201cMatsayin Azumi A Shari\u2019ar Musulunci, the hausa translation of the former.<\/p>\n
