{"id":27143,"date":"2014-05-27T21:43:37","date_gmt":"2014-05-27T20:43:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=27143"},"modified":"2014-05-27T21:43:37","modified_gmt":"2014-05-27T20:43:37","slug":"voters-registration-wednesday-28th-of-may-2014-declared-work-free-day-in-bayelsa-low-key-celebration-for-democracy-day-also","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/voters-registration-wednesday-28th-of-may-2014-declared-work-free-day-in-bayelsa-low-key-celebration-for-democracy-day-also\/","title":{"rendered":"Voters Registration: Wednesday, 28th Of May, 2014 Declared Work Free Day In Bayelsa \u2026.Low Key Celebration For Democracy Day Also"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">As part of its resolve at ensuring that, Bayelsans participate fully in all future elections in the country, the State Government has declared Wednesday, 28<sup><span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"2ecb6280-0a68-465e-abe9-816dbef0cba4\">th<\/span><\/sup><span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"776bd0f0-9702-44bb-baa0-49d48bb84260\">of<\/span> May, 2014 as a work free day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">The move is also to enable Bayelsans and other residents of the state to mobilize fully and participate actively in the ongoing voters\u2019 registration exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">A Government statement has, therefore, called on persons of voting age to take advantage of the work-free day, to check their names on the voters\u2019 register and obtain their permanent voters\u2019 cards, while persons, who have just attained the voting age of 18 or relocated to the State to also register to vote in all future elections in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">The Government wishes to remind all persons of voting age not to shy away from registering, as it is their civic responsibility to participate in electing governments at all levels that, will serve their interest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">The statement also called on all opinion, community, women and youth leaders across the state to mobilize their people to take active part in the exercise, as government attaches so much importance to the participation of the people in the exercise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13pt; line-height: 115%;\">Similarly, activities marking the 2014 Democracy Day in the State are going to be low keyed.
