Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has taken his drive for
\ninvestment to Germany where the 2014 African Finance and Investment Forum
\n(AFIF) is currently taking place in Cologne.<\/p>\n
He is due to make a presentation where he will tell the business community
\nabout the investment opportunities in Delta state and find investors and
\nfinanciers for projects in the real sector of the Delta State economy and
\nsmall and medium enterprises (SMEs) towards the development of the State
\nunder his vision of Delta Beyond Oil.<\/p>\n
In a keynote address during the opening of the forum organised by EMRC,
\nBelgium and DEG (German Financial Development Institution), Uduaghan
\nidentified inadequate transport infrastructure as the major challenge to
\ndevelopment in Africa.<\/p>\n
He said although Nigeria has security issues, they are exaggerated and
\nwill soon be resolved. With the strengthening of democratic structures in
\nNigeria, Uduaghan said the country offers a stable and profitable haven
\nfor investors.<\/p>\n
Members of the Delta State delegation include Chike C. Ogeah, Commissioner
\nfor Information; Afam Obiago, Economic Adviser to the Governor and Ben
\nIgo, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Economic Planning.<\/p>\n
AFIF brings together expert Financiers, Bankers, Investors, Public sector
\nand Entrepreneurs from across sub-Saharan Africa to the rest of the world.
\nThe forum is designed for public and private institutions interested in
\nsecuring finance for projects; investors (private and institutional)
\nlooking for projects to invest in; as well as policy makers,
