he Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has condemned in the
\nstrongest possible terms the unleashing of provocative violence and mayhem
\non the
\nGovernor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Senator Babafemi Ojudu and
\nmembers of
\nthe APC in Ekiti State by the police which resulted in the death of a
\nmember of the
\nparty.<\/p>\n
The party equally lambasted the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP,
\nOlisa Metuh for attempting to justify this clear case of brigandage by the
\npolice on
\nthe members of the APC, warning that the party will resist every attempt by
\ndesperate politicians who have wasted the country’s potentials to force
\nthemselves
\non Nigerians in 2015.<\/p>\n
In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of
\nthe APC, Joe
\nIgbokwe, the party sees the attack as the height of provocation by a
\nfailed party
\nthat sees the police as it’s hatchet dogs in their desperate efforts to
\nstay in
\npower. It warns that Nigerians will not sit idly by and watch the police
\nand the PDP
\ncontinue intimidating innocent Nigerians so as to continue stealing the
\nelectoral
\nmandates of Nigerians for the purpose of continuing the ruination that has
\ncrumbled
\nthe country in fifteen years of perilous PDP government of the country.<\/p>\n
“Nigerians remember that sometime ago, a National Leader of the APC has
\nrightly said
\nthat the PDP is in alliance with the police and INEC and that unholy
\nalliance has
\naccounted why these institutions see themselves as malleable instruments
\nin the
\ninordinate desire of a failed party like the PDP to continue clinging on
\nto power.
\nWe see the action of the police as then eight of provocation not only to the
\ninstitution of the governor but the entire constitution, democracy, rule
\nof law and
\nindeed by the entire Ekiti State and it’s peace loving people.<\/p>\n
“The haste with which the hare brained PDP Publicity Secretary rushed to
\napprove
\nthis brigandage and direct affront on the constitution of the land proves
\nto ll that
\nthe police was employed by the PDP to unleash violence on an Executive
\nGovernor of a
\nstate. We are in no doubt that this ranks as the way the PDP wants to
\nemploy to
\nretain power when it had completely ran down the country and made the
\ncountry an
\nobject of ridicule before the international community.<\/p>\n
“We see the unprovoked attack on Governor Fayemi, Senator Ojudu and
\nmembers of the
\nAPC in Ekiti, coming days after the military was employed to attack some
\nnewspapers
\nin broad daylight, as another act of gangsterism which had served the PDP
\nwell in
\nmanipulating the electoral system to its unfair benefits, even as such
\nwholesome
\nmanipulation has left Nigeria wrecked, destroyed and prostrate.<\/p>\n
“While we warn the PDP to prepare to march on blood in its effort retain
\npower at
\nall costs, we will not hesitate to tell the blood thirsty members of the
\nPDP and
\ntheir police attack dogs that Nigerians are ready and willing to meet them
\nfrontally
\nin our bid to reverse the progressive destruction of the country through
\nbad and
\ncorrupt leadership the PDP has been promoting in the past fifteen years.<\/p>\n
“We call on the Inspector General of Police to quickly bring the
\nperpetrators of
\nthat heinous crime against the constitution and Ekiti people to immediate
\njustice.
\nWe demand the immediate arrest and trail of the particular police officer
\nfrom
\nBayelsa State who was commissioned to lead this provocative attack and we
\ncall for
\nan open enquiry to ensure that all those behind this act of treason are
\nbrought to
