Bayelsa State Governor, Hon Seriake Dickson has described the death of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero,\u00a0 as a monumental loss not only to the emirate and people of Kano, but to the entire country.<\/p>\n
Governor Dickson noted that, the patriotic, detribalised and human disposition of the late monarch always distinguished him (Bayero) as a true Nigerian, who believed and promoted religious tolerance as well as ensured the peaceful coexistence of all the ethnic nationalities of the country.<\/p>\n
Describing the late Bayero as a bridge-builder and one of the prominent northern leaders that condemned and joined hands with other progressive-minded Nigerians to seek an end to the security challenges facing the country, Governor Dickson pointed out that, the attempt on the Emir’s life by assassins early last year speaks volumes of his courageous and uncompromising stance against the supporters and perpetrators of current security challenges in the north eastern part of the country.<\/p>\n
According to the Governor, as one of the longest-serving emirs, who ascended the throne in 1963, the departed monarch contributed tremendously to the economic prosperity and political stability of Kano and the country as a whole.<\/p>\n
Governor Dickson who conveyed the condolences of the Government and people of Bayelsa State, prayed God to grant the bereaved family, the emirate and the entire people of Kano State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.<\/p>\n
