The new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has not been able to locate to his palace and commence official duties, sequel to the siege laid to the palace by irate youths who are vexed by his choice.
\nThe\u00a0 palace of the Emir of Kano continued to be under surveillance on Tuesday, as security men cordoned off the area, to forestall breakdown of law and order.
\nEven though the official position was that the palace was not ready, Pointblanknews.com learnt that he had to seek refuge at Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s office for fear of being attacked by protesters.
\nSanusi\u00a0 was presented with instruments of Kano Emirship by the Madaki of Kano and chairman of the four-man kingmakers\u2019 council, Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani Cigari Ibrahim, at the Government House, Kano.
\nThe instruments comprise the Holy Qu\u2019ran, the \u201ctwin spear\u201d (Tagwayen Masu), the sword, Emir Dabo\u2019s hat and the ostrich plumage shoe.
\nThere has been heavy security presence around the palace and Sanusi’s residence since the break down of law and order when angry indigenes took to the streets chanting, and s<\/p>\n
