Ekiti State Governor-Elect Dr. Ayo Fayose has described the Osun State
\nGovernor, Rauf Aregbesola as “one of the dangers to democracy in Nigeria.”<\/p>\n
Fayose in a release through his campaign Organization said Aregbesola’s
\nutterances, especially his call on APC supporters to attack security
\nagents with charms and amulets during the August 9, 2014 governorship
\nelection in the State is “shameful”<\/p>\n
The Fayose Campaign Organisation, described Aregbesola’s claim that the
\nlast Saturday governorship election, which the Peoples Democratic Party
\n(PDP) candidate, Dr Ayodele Fayose won convincingly was fraudulent, as “a
\nfunction of fear of an impending defeat on August 9, 2014 that has
\nenveloped the minds of\u00a0 Aregbesola and his All Progressives Congress (APC)
\ncohorts in Osun State as a result of the party’s scandalous lost Ekiti to
\nthe PDP last Saturday.”<\/p>\n
The Director General of AFCO, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, who issued the release
\nsaid that Nigerians should not be surprised that Governor Aregbesola could
\ndescribe an election that was applauded by the whole world as the best in
\nthe history of electioneering in Nigeria as fraudulent, adding that the
\ngovernor was only expressing his fear of losing the power that he got
\nthrough judicial
\nmanipulation.<\/p>\n
While urging Nigerians to ignore Aregbesola, AFCO said; “It is shameful
\nthat some people whose mouths should naturally be padlocked still speak on
\nelections in Nigeria.”<\/p>\n
He said; “Isn’t it funny that Aregbesola who has never won any election in
\nOsun State, but was Salamically imposed through a court judgment that
\ncancelled results in 10 out of 30 Local Councils in Osun State is the only
\none talking about Ekiti election being fraudulent?”<\/p>\n
Speaking further, Anisulowo said; “It is obvious that Aregbesola is
\nafraid, having seen the failure of reliance on thugs to rig election
\nduring the last Saturday election.<\/p>\n
“We are aware of his thugs known as ‘State Boys’ that he brought to Ekiti
\nlast week, but were rendered useless by the heavy presence of security
\nagents.<\/p>\n
“We have also heard the governor openly encouraging and inciting violence
\nby openly saying that ‘any security officer who misbehaves will know that
\nwe are children of Oduduwa while asking members of his party to come to
\ntheir polling units with charms and amulets.’<\/p>\n
“Aregbesola has also called on his ‘State Boys,’ whom he has armed to
\nattack security agents before and during the election, not to be rattled
\nby security agents.<\/p>\n
“Therefore, it is understandable that Aregbesola can never see the free,
\nfair and transparent election that the entire world saw in Ekiti. But we
\nare sure that the same God that liberated Ekiti people from the APC’s
\ndeceitful government will also liberated the people of Osun State on
