A frontline governorship candidate on the platform f the All Progressive
\nGrand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho says Chief
\nMartin Agbaso is still nursing political wounds inflicted on him by Gov.
\nRochas Okorocha\u00a0 and cannot win election if he flies the ticket of the
\nparty in 2015.<\/p>\n
In a statement by his media office, made available to Pointblanknews.com,
\nthe former Interior minister called on Agbaso to concentrate more on
\nnursing his political wounds than resorting to self-deceit, political
\nhallucination and pull-him-down activities.<\/p>\n
The statement insisted that only a credible and acceptable candidate with
\nenormous capacity, goodwill and strength like the former minister is
\nexactly what APGA needs to reclaim the state in 2015.<\/p>\n
“The attention of Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho and his campaign organization
\nhave been drawn to the Monday June 23- Thursday 26 2014 edition of
\nNigerian Union Mail with the caption ‘Agbaso Coasting To APGA Primaries
\nVictory in Imo’. The writer of the said reporter opined that Umeh’s
\nAppeal court victory enhanced Agbaso’s opportunities of clinching the
\ngovernorship ticket of APGA in Imo.<\/p>\n
“Without joining issues with anyone including Chief Martin Agbaso, Capt.
\nIheanacho joined APGA through Chief Victor Umeh- led National Working
\nCommittee. Ever since then, remained steadfast and loyal to Umeh’s
\nleadership hoping that justice and fairness would ultimately reaffirm the
\nauthenticity of the chairmanship position of APGA. His victory was well
\ncelebrated by Capt. Iheanacho and his teeming supporters in Imo APGA at
\nleast for ending the leadership tussle that raged for a long time in the
\nparty.
\nIn anticipation of Umeh’s victory, Capt. Iheanacho equally traversed round
\nImo state rebuilding and luring Imolites back to APGA after the
\ndevastating effects of Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha and Sen. Chris
\nAnyanwu exit from the party.<\/p>\n
The statement added that Iheanacho’s membership of APGA largely accounts
\nfor why the party has once again started bubbling in Imo state.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis governorship ambition under APGA platform has also received
\ntremendous boost thus placing APGA directly in contention of the state
\nplum position. We therefore urge Chief Martin Agbaso to refrain from self-
\ndeceit and political hallucination and face core realities associated with
\nthe governorship contest. As a true democrat, Capt. Iheanacho believes
\nstrongly in healthy competition and progressive politics that will
\nultimately promote the collective interest of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement warned that the determination of Chief Victor Umeh- led
\nnational executive to reclaim Imo state can never be achieved with sheer
\nsentiment and sympathy.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnly credible and acceptable candidate with enormous capacity to
\nchallenge Governor Okorocha and the PDP like the former minister of
\nInterior, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho is ultimately what APGA needs for
\nvictory. We strongly believe that Chief Agbaso is still nurturing his open
\npolitical wounds inflicted on him by Gov. Okorocha and cannot venture into
\na severe political battle that obviously need enormous strength and
\ncapacity.\u201d<\/p>\n
Recall that Agbaso and Iheanacho who hails from the same Emekuku town in
\nOwerri North Council area have been on war path over the failure of the
\nlatter to meet up with a N1 billion demand by Agbaso as a condition to
\nback the former minister in 2015. Our correspondent gathered that Agbaso
\ndeclared Iheanacho bankrupt for failing to meet up with the demand and
